About this Show
Jim and Marian Jordan premiered Fibber McGee and Molly on April 16, 1935, on NBC Blue, sponsored by Johnson's Wax — a partnership that lasted for most of the show's run. By 1940, the show had become the most popular program in America. The show produced some of radio's most enduring character types, including neighbor Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve (who earned his own spinoff series in 1941 — the first successful spinoff in American radio history). Marian Jordan voiced 69 distinct characters on the show over its run.
