About this Show
Crime Classics premiered June 15, 1953, on CBS, running as a sustaining series until June 30, 1954. It was produced and directed by Elliott Lewis. Bernard Herrmann composed original music for all but one Crime Classics episode, using deliberately period-appropriate instrumentation — two or three instruments per episode chosen to evoke the historical era of each crime. The entire 49-episode run survives and fits comfortably on a single USB drive — making Crime Classics one of the most perfectly complete OTR series a collector can own.
