About this Show
Adventures by Morse was created by Carlton E. Morse immediately after NBC canceled his acclaimed series I Love a Mystery. The syndicated program featured Captain Bart Friday, a globe-trotting San Francisco-based private investigator, and his Texas sidekick Skip Turner.
The series comprised eight complete serials — alternating between 10-episode and 3-episode arcs — each taking the duo to exotic locations worldwide. Morse had complete creative control, writing, producing, and directing all 52 episodes.
Known for atmospheric sound effects, dramatic music, and tension-building cliff-hangers, the show maintained the same storytelling quality that made I Love a Mystery famous. Multiple actors portrayed the lead roles to accommodate the syndication schedule, including Elliott Lewis, David Ellis, and Russell Thorson.
