Alice Faye was one of Hollywood's biggest musical film stars of the 1930s and 40s, known for films like Alexander's Ragtime Band and In Old Chicago at 20th Century Fox. She largely retired from films after marrying Phil Harris in 1941, and their joint radio show became one of NBC's most popular domestic comedies.
