DMCA Policy
Last updated: September 2026
Vintage Radio Vault respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Our Position on Old Time Radio
We carry recordings that we believe to be in the public domain or otherwise distributable. Copyright in historical broadcasts can be complicated — rights in the scripts, music and the recordings themselves may be held separately, and sound recordings made before 1972 are now protected under US federal law for set periods — so we cannot promise that every assessment is correct. If you hold rights in anything on this site, please contact us using the process below and we will review it promptly.
Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe that content available through our service infringes your copyright, please submit a DMCA takedown notice containing the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with sufficient detail to allow us to locate it.
- Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
Where to Send Notices
Send DMCA notices through our contact form and select the "DMCA Notice" category. Notices in that category are routed to the person who handles copyright matters for Vintage Radio Vault for priority review. Please include every item listed above.
Our formal designated-agent registration with the US Copyright Office is in progress; its name and postal address will be listed here once it is complete. In the meantime the contact form above is the fastest way to reach us.
Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may file a counter-notification containing the information specified by the DMCA. We will process counter-notifications in accordance with applicable law.
Response Time
We aim to respond to valid DMCA notices within 2 business days and will remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material promptly upon receipt of a compliant notice.
Repeat Infringers
We maintain a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of copyright.
