Biography
Humphrey DeForest Bogart was born Christmas Day 1899 in Manhattan. His breakthrough came in The Maltese Falcon (1941) and Casablanca (1942). In 1951-52 he and Lauren Bacall starred in the syndicated radio series Bold Venture -- 78 episodes on 423 stations earning them 5000 per week. He died of esophageal cancer January 14, 1957. The AFI named him the greatest male film star in 1999.
