About this Show
CBS Radio Mystery Theater premiered January 6, 1974, with 'The Vanishing Lady,' created and produced by Himan Brown. E.G. Marshall served as host from January 1974 until February 1, 1982, when Tammy Grimes took over for the final season. The show's regular writing staff included Sam Dann, who wrote 311 of the 1,399 episodes and appeared in 438 as a performer. The show won a Peabody Award in 1974, its inaugural year. All 1,399 episodes are preserved and available.
