About this Show
Dark Fantasy came from station WKY in Oklahoma City and was carried on Friday nights by NBC stations, from November 14, 1941, to June 19, 1942. It ran 31 episodes, the last a repeat of 'Demon Tree' from December 1941.
The writer was Scott Bishop, a pen name for WKY staff writer George Marion Hamaker, who later wrote for The Mysterious Traveler. His stories ranged over the supernatural, science fiction and murder.
A regional production reaching a national audience, the series has survived complete, so all 31 episodes can be heard today.
It is a rare case of a Golden Age horror series preserved from first episode to last, with a distinctly small-station atmosphere.
