About this Show
The Amazing Interplanetary Adventures of Flash Gordon premiered on Mutual April 27, 1935. Gale Gordon (later of Our Miss Brooks and The Lucy Show) played Flash in the initial 26-episode series. The serial concluded with Flash and Dale's marriage on October 26, 1935. Two days later, a daily revival launched and ran for 74 additional episodes. The character's most famous incarnation — Universal movie serials starring Buster Crabbe (1936, 1938, 1940) — postdates the radio version.
